Beautiful or not ?

what do you think beauty is ?

I believe most people would consider first impression (appearance) as the most important factor then continue with what most people will then say - inner beauty.

Inner beauty and appearance are both very diversify and judgemental.

are the 3 girls pretty???

你認為美是

我相信大多數人會考慮作為最重要的考慮因素然後大多數人 內在美

內在美外觀非常多樣化判斷

那麼你們覺得3個女孩美嗎

Yes, I think they are all pretty but if they can insert a bit of uniqueness would be much better!!!

what do you guys think??

是的,我認為他們都是漂亮如果他們可以插一些個就會好得多

你們有什麼看法?

Singapore - Maxwell Food Court

MAXWELL FOOD COURT
address: kadayanallur Street, Singapore

It's a famous food court located somewhere near ClubStreet that you have to go try the chicken rice and tofu pudding (my personal recommendation, not on guidebook).

2 STALLS YOU CAN'T MISS

1/ Chicken Rice - Hainanese chicken rice

You can find Tian Tian inside the food court, this shop provides the best chicken rice in Singapore.  There is a queue all the time, no matter during lunch or dinner.  It takes me 10-15 mins to get mine.

Delicious chicken rice, SGD 3 (HK$19) for a regular size; SGD 3.5 (HK$ 22) for a larger one.  I brought 2 boxes back to Hong Kong .... now you have an idea how tasty it is.

2/ Tofu Pudding

At Maxwell, you can also find Lao Ban Soya Restaurant which is my personal recommendation, not on guidebook ;)

It's totally different from what I usually have. The soya flavor is very strong and the pudding is so soft!!  If I didn't eat the chicken rice, I can finish 2 bowls myself !!!!
Tofu Pudding

It's only SGD1 each, don't miss it !!!!!!!

WHAT ELSE TO EAT IN MAXWELL?

Shaved ice is also very popular in Singapore, the hot weather kills me, thanks God that I can eat this every where.

It's only SGD 2 (HK$13), good to eat during the day to cool yourself down ;)

LEAVE YOUR TUMMY FOR SOMETHING ELSE
I have been to Maxwell once everyday during my visit in Singapore and I see a long queue at this noodles stall every time. ummm..... Probably I should give it a try.

So I line up for 15 mins which my friend has already finished what she orders.  While I am queuing, I discover that the fish soup is the famous item here.

There are 6 dishes you can order and I pick this fried fish noodles in soup. First, the fish soup isn't as great as I expect but the fried fish is fresh though.  Second, it is tooooooo hot to eat this in the food court !! Third, it is not worth to line up soooo long for this.

btw, this costs me $4.5, I would rather go for the chicken rice!!!!

You won't regret if you miss it !!! Save your stomach for satay sticks and ice-cream wafer.

Singapore - 亞坤

亞坤

亞坤 for its famous kaya toast and the runny eggs and tea.

It's a good place for snacks or afternoon tea, but not enough for a full lunch ;)

MY KAYA TOAST SET

Kaya Toast Set

This set comes with 4 pieces of small toast with kaya jam + thick butter, runny eggs, and a cup of drink (coffee/tea) and I pick coffee. SGD 4.4 (HK$28).... a good bargain, right? ;)

The toast is thin and crunchy that I can finish them in 2 minutes!!! Don't forget to put the special soya sauce and pepper to eat with the eggs!!

DON'T MISS IT !!!

Vienna - Schnitzels at Figlmuller, Austria

I find that I don't really have time to write in details, so I just write a quick one here.

FOOD YOU CAN'T MISS !!
You can't miss schnitzels when you visit Vienna, how can you not try this Austrin dish??

WHAT IS SCHNITZELS?
It's a big thin deep-fried veal which is a traditional Austrian dish that usually comes with salad.  Check out the link below if you wanna know more.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schnitzel

I stay in Vienna for 2 nights and have tried schnitzels in 2 different restaurant:
-  Mozart Stubert (just around the corner from where I stay, Wombats City Hostel) and
-  Figlmuller, a famous one,
I am not going to talk about the one I had in Mozart Stubert as Figlmuller's one is waaaaay better.

WHERE TO EAT?
FIGLMULLER
address: Figlmüller Wollzeile 5, A-1010 Vienna
Tel. 01/512 61 77
e-mail: wollzeile@figlmueller.at
11am - 10:30pm

This restaurant is introduced by the receiptionist at the hostel and local people.

As I said before, the orginial schnitzels are made of veal, but they also use other ingridents now - chicken, pork, chicken stuffed with cheese and cow's liver.

WHAT I ORDER?
I order 2 dishes + 2 bottles of lemon beer:
1/  chicken schnitzels, it's very crispy while the chicken is still cooked at the right timing, not too dry nor not too hard that would hurt my tongue.
2/  cow's liver schnitzels, a very special one.  However, I am a bit fed up after eating 1 piece (3 pieces in total), make sure you have enough people to share with you.

If you don't really like organs, don't order this.  I personally like eating different types of organs, but I still find that this one is a bit fishy.

3/  lemon beer is good, it is similar to fruit beer, I guess guys generally may not prefer this.

The meal costs EUR33!!

I will definitely come back for schnitzels if I come back again !!!

Here's one part of modern day living we can't without - Internet, and your home network

Home networks are a chore to maintain and deal with. No one wants to deal with it because it's fiddly, technical and stuff that should just work, like turning a tap on for water. However, it appears that in a bit over 6 years, my third router is dying or close to dying.

Routers seem pretty fragile and of varying reliability. I had a look at a couple of major brands (TP Link, Linksys, Netgear and D-Link) on newegg, and all their 1-2 star reviews had similar complaints - hardware faults in purchase or eventually becoming faulty.

They all charge a similar type of pricing structure with products that range from simple 150M wireless, up to 300, 450 and 450 dual band. They also tend to have more atennae as you move up the price curve along with a bonus USB port to plug in storage devices. Gigabit wired networks are also present in the mid to higher range products. Some brands like TP Link are clearly no frills type discounts.

My thought on buying this stuff is simple. Reliability seems questionable. Higher end products are clearly significantly higher margin (extra $20-40 for a USB port and antenna? Seriously? Literally costs maybe $2-3 at a generous guess). So buy the lowest profit margin product that you can accept. If you don't care for Gigabit network, don't get it. If you don't care about 450M dual band wireless, don't get it. Unless you work on digital media and need to copy loads of stuff all the time, why would you need it at this point in time - remember, the router will probably die in two years and you'll be buying a new one anyway.

This is annoying and affecting my gaming!

Heidelburg, Germany - Lotte Hostel for family and backpackers, a nice place to stay

I picked this Lotte Backpackers on Hostelworld since they have really high score and positive comments.

I arrived at 9pm (the reception closes at 10pm) and the owner was friendly to introduce a famous traditional German restaurant to us.

Things I like:
- bus 33 located outside the main train station can bring us easily to the hostel, €1.1 for one way
- hostel as it's pretty new, clean and cosy, the private room is very big as well.  (recommend for families)
- location is very convenient (in old town) close to the main street where bars and restaurants located
- most of the tourist areas are within walking distance (eg) Old Bridge, Heidelberg Castle, Heidelberg University, Hauptstrabe
- close to Christmas market
- nice scene as I can see Heidelberg Castle through the windows at the hostle, very romatic at night
- pretty cheap, €59/night
- check out at 11am so no rush in the morning

Things I don't like"
- even though it's a private room, but we still have to share washroom, yet the washroom is clean

I would definitely come back to this hostel again !!!

Florence - Food and Restaurants, Italty

There are 2 traditional food you can get in Florence - Cow Stomach and Florentina Steak, however, you don't want to miss the pasta and pizza here too.

COW STOMACH RELATED AND BEEF, cheap and delicious
Apparently, there are 3 types of bread that is famous in Florence:
- Panino Di Lampretto, this is cow stomach bread
- Panino Di Trippa, this is also part of stomach bread
- Panino Di Bollito, beef bread

>> WHERE TO EAT?
- You will find a small truck-like stall in this open market runs by a woman and a man (usually opens till 2:30pm), they will drive away the truck when  they close
- I have tried all 3 items I mentioned above and they are yummy !!
- You can locals are there for lunch toooo

FLORENTINA STEAK, EXCELLENT, Not Expenive
- As suggested by a local, this restaurant, Trattoria La Casalinga, is pretty popular in Florence and usually there is a queue there at night after 7:30.
Address: Via dei Michelozzi, 9r. 50125 Firenze
www.trattorialacasalinga.it
tel: 055 21 86 24
email: lacasalinga@freeinternet.it
- It's about €35/kg, if you find anything above €45-50 that might be a tourist scam.
- The steak is wonderful and so does the house red wine
- order 1kg steak so I didn't have much room to try other food

PASTA & PIZZA, Cheap and Delicious
- This is a very local restaurant which you can see people buying pizza home and take away food
La Mangiatoia
Address: Piazza S. Felice,8/9r, 50125 Firenze
www.ristorantelamangiatola.it
Tel: 055 22 40 60
- The pasta here is about €6-8 and pizza cost €8-10, English menu is available inside.
- Staff is very helpful when explaining
- You can also try the tap sparkling white wine which is my favourite too, you can order 3 different sizes: 1/4L, half or 1L.
- I had 2 dinners and 1 lunch here as I found out that the quality differences aren't too many comparing to relative expensive restaurants
- I had different types of pasta here and 1 pizza here, they are all tasty.  ( I honestly think the pasta here are better than those I had in Rome)
- Desserts are normal, not very outstanding, but still not bad.

Gelato
- The gelato in Florence is 2 for 2 scoops, but you will find that shops charge you €4 in tourist area.
- Be careful before you buy gelato in the tourist area, ask for a price first !! I heard that 2 Americians were asked to pay €28 for 2 cups.
